Online Clock's Explanation for Military Time
-
Military Time is a time format using a 24 Hour Time system that eliminates the need for the designations "A.M." and "P.M.". Military Time is sometimes referred to as "24 Hour Time".
-
Military Time leaves less room for confusion than Standard Time. For this reason, Military Time is the time format preferred by the scientific, medicinal and military commmunities, and is also used by railroads and airlines.
-
Many different parts of the world actually use Military Time as their main time format, including the UK, Germany, Australia, Canada, India & the Phillipines.
-
12:00 a.m. is usually referred to as both 0000 and 2400 hours. Clocks which can display Military Time, however, always display this time of day as 0000 (and not as 2400).
-
Military Time can only be shown on digital clocks like the Military Time Clock shown on OnlineClock.net. Round analog clock dials with their 12 hour dials are not adequate for displaying Military Time.
